Career consulting as a job?
I’m interested in possibly taking up career consulting as a profession. I’m curious to find out if anyone has any experience in this field and has something positive/negative to say about it? What degree would be useful for becoming a career adviser/consultant?
I work in Human Resources and have for many years. Career consulting is interesting but there is much more to human resource work than just career consulting. You can do recruiting, classification, labour relations, etc. A Business degree majoring in Human Resources would be good. Or a psychology degree (which is what I have). Some people with Social Work degrees also get into this field. Best wishes.
