How To Be a Wholesaler

A wholesaler is a type of entrepreneur where you directly purchase your product from the manufacturer at a cheaper rate.  You then mark up the price and sell it to retailers.  The difference between the original price and the retail price will be your profit.  This can be difficult at first but with careful planning and a healthy dose of patience, you will be successful in this endeavor that you are planning to take.  Here’s a helpful guide on how to become a wholesaler.

  1. Make sure you have a tax identification number.  You will need this in obtaining a business license.  This is how you pay your taxes.  It is obligatory and failure to comply can result to imprisonment.
  2. Attain a business license.  Once you have your own tax I.D., you can apply for a license to the nearest government office.  It would be helpful if you call first and ask where exactly you should go and what requirements you should bring.  All legal documents should be finished first before you start anything.
