Is it really possible to land a marketing job without a degree? Well, I did it. Not only without a Marketing Degree, but without ANY degree. And with a little guidance, you can do it too.

Let’s start with some common ways that you can break into Marketing:

1. Start as a Sales Representative.
Many companies are keen to promote from within. Sales Representatives are usually given intensive training, allowing you to build up a solid knowledge of your product and your market while at the same time, proving to your employer just how hard-working and professional you are!

2. Start in Administration.
Once again, it’s out the “work from the ground up” approach. Sounds hard? Well, this is a little harder than the option of becoming a Sales Representative, as you usually have to work harder to be noticed in Administration. However, not everyone is cut-out to be a Salesperson, and Administration roles can earn you a lot of great experience.

3. Certificates and Short Courses.
If you don’t have a degree, make an effort to study in other ways. In Australia, TAFE NSW marketing courses are highly credible and some employers even prefer the TAFE Diploma, considering it to be a more practical course than the University degree.
