How To Prevent Discrimination in the Workplace

Discrimination is being biased towards someone on the basis of height, hair color, gender, race and so on. To be considered good business, a workplace must be discrimination-free. Preventing discrimination in the workplace favors employees because it improves their morale. Before working on its prevention, let’s first talk about the different forms of discrimination:

  1. Race, gender, pregnancy - It is illegal for an employer to discriminate an employee on this basis. It’s discrimination if someone said that blacks are voracious eaters, a woman is not good in numbers, and pregnant women should not be asked to work overtime because she would just sleep due to her heaviness. To avoid a hostile working environment, there must be a seminar for both employers and employees so that such topics are avoided during conversations.
  2. Tribal origin, religion, disability - These are protected characteristics that employees or a group of employees must be suffering because of some intimidating treatments from co-workers. State and Federal Laws are issued to protect employees as well as employers from discriminatory …
