The job of a pastry chef is very tangible, concrete and physical. Each of his mornings begins with a mountain of ingredients that rapidly takes the form of a delicate pie or an attractive loaf of bread. This labor of love is obviously appreciated by the customers as seen on the smiles on their faces. A pastry chef’s job is rewarding, especially when he bakes breads for a grocery store, or provide desserts to a restaurant, or puts up a bake shop in the neighborhood.

The career of a pastry chef is widely sought after not only by students but also by other people who would like to have a second career or maybe those who love to be in the kitchen. Among the jobs lined up for a pastry chef are: overseeing the cooking staff, purchasing supplies for the kitchen, making baked goods, decorating, plating and trimming desserts and pastries, and organizing the kitchen.
