Think working in a fastfood restaurant is a deadend job? Andy Goves might just change your mind.
He’s worked his way up from a Saturday job cleaning tables 11 years ago to become an area coach, looking after eight of KFC’s busiest stores in Surrey, Berkshire and Middlesex.
Andy never dreamed his parttime earner would turn into a full-time career.
“When I started work at my local store in Plymouth, I was studying for A-levels and just wanted to earn some extra pocket money. I never thought of it as a career – I wanted to become a graphic designer,” says the 27-year-old.
“But I was surprised to find that we were given training from day one working in different parts of the store, from using the till to preparing and cooking the chicken – up to 1,000 pieces a day.
