Many teens who received exam results this week will be quitting school for a tough jobs market – and temping could be the best way for them to get a foot in the door.
While full-time jobs are in short supply, the demand for temps hasn’t dropped.
Recruitment giant Adecco says around 80% of their current vacancies are temporary and many of these could turn into permanent roles.
Here are Adecco’s 10 golden rules on how to turn a temp role into a permanent job:
1 Always be on time -employers value good timekeeping.
2 Do the job to the best of your ability and try and exceed expectations.
3 Be proactive – ask for more work or offer to take on more once you feel comfortable with your role.
