Is it safe to give out social security number on online applications?
i did it on walmart…which i exited so it wasnt submitted

and i did it on AMC theaters.

thats about it..

i also filled out an app at the store (KFC) but it was on paper…so im skeptical about that..

yeah i applied for a job on amctheaters.com and i gave out my SSN there.

well for one the only reason they would ask you online is if you were appling for a job. that would really be the only acception. they shouldn’t ask you if you were buying something.well if you don’t have good protection on your computer a hacker could get your number and could do identity theft. nothing bad should really happen if you a cautious of what you do. just pay more attention next time you do these kind of things.

  1. Who the is writing these answers? “Acception”??? Is there such a word? Try using spell check and get the correct answer: “exception”. It does ot appear professional if the response is poor either due to grammatical or spelling errors.

    Now to the root of the issue.

    You should not put your SS# on any documentation that also contains other specific identifying criteria (such as your address and date of birth) unless you are sure that the site is encrypted and secure.
