social worker Is Social Worker a Stressful Job?

To get hired as a social worker you typically need you LMSW (Licensed Masters of Social Work) which means you need to get a masters degree. I know of no social work jobs that are in an office setting.

By nature social workers deal with people who have emotional needs as well as need of community services. They are a composite of helping people find help to all aspects of their problem.

Not sure how you define “office setting” Some social workers are based out of schools, hospitals, and mental health agencies and may typically stay in those settings, but many times are asked to travel to meet clients, with other agencies etc. It depends on the employer more than the type of setting.

As far as being stressful, it is, or used to be considered on of the top “burnout” fields. However, some people feel that the help that they provide to clients and their families outweighs the low pay, too much work, inability to help as many people as thoroughly as they would like, etc.
If you are already worried now that it will be too stressful, you might try looking into other careers.

You didn’t mention any other interests or why you wanted to be a social worker so I can’t really help you out on that front. Try talking to a career counselor through your high school or college to get more assistance in helping you chose the right job field.
