Parents dismay as graduates struggle to find work.

I’m a big believer that one of the UK’s key priorities should be young people
and their employment.
The last year has seen a wave of terrific talent dismissed or ignored. The
class of 2009 are struggling: they’ve proved their worth, obtained their
degree and instead of entering the world of work, they’re finding it a
mission to get their foot on the career ladder.
Whether it’s the closure of graduate schemes, or employers opting for a more
experienced candidate – graduates haven’t had an easy ride.
They’re also fast realising a degree isn’t an instant passport to success This
letter by one worried father is typical of those in my mailbag at the moment.
