There’s been a noticeable shift in the recruitment landscape. Internet savvy companies are now realising the benefits of using online recruitment – both in terms of cost and quality of candidate. But have job hunters kept up?

From some of the questions I receive I wonder how accustomed everyone is to
the idea of applying for work online?
The reality is that online recruitment is fast becoming a force to be reckoned
with. Employers are becoming increasingly aware of its ability to reach more
relevant candidates than more traditional means of recruitment.
At the same time, with recruitment freezes and the demise of a number of
businesses during the recession, there’s been an influx of candidates
entering the job market e_SEmD many whom are new to online recruitment and
the processes that govern it.
I’ve seen a spike in job seekers who are frustrated by the lack of response
they receive from agencies when applying for a job online. To an extent I
understand their concerns, but I also believe that this frustration lies in
a lack of familiarity with the rules of the game.
