Non-execs ‘underpaid’ for job

AN average salary of £44,000 for non-executive directors in the FTSE 350 is
not enough to attract the top candidates to the job, a new study has warned.

The report, compiled by the Reward Technology Forum (RTF), found that
non-executive remuneration rose to £50,000 last year, if payment for sitting
on committees is included.

However, the organisation believes that this is not adequate compensation for
non-executives burdened by increasing corporate governance demands.
