Pay alone will not attract best staff

A growing number of human resources (HR) managers are worried that pay and benefits packages alone will not be enough to attract the best staff, research has found.

The number one concern among HR professionals is the “inability” of pay and benefits to entice talented people, a survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has revealed.

The same survey conducted last year put the same concern in fourth place.

The 2010 study also found the inability of pay and benefits to keep hold of talented people was another major concern, rising from 12th place last year to sixth place this year…
