1. Never do anything in the heat of the moment. Step back and think carefully about what your boss has said. It could be that he has a point. Think why he might have taken the stance he has. How can you change his mind and still give him/her what they want.
2. Carefully think your argument through. Organize your thoughts and put them into writing even if this is just notes for you to refer to in a meeting.
3. Arrange to speak to your boss away from your colleagues, your boss will not react well to being criticized in front of employees and who can blame him.
4. Before going through your prepared thoughts be sure to tell your boss that you 100% appreciate their point of view. This will keep them in a frame of mind for listening and debate…
