Abby G asked:

My sister has applied for a job in another state and she was asking me if the job interviewer is planning to hire her just by prescreening her. I have a job but I couldn’t remember what prescreening means.

Best Answer:

Pre-screening, is kind of a preliminary interview, often done if there are too many applicants to go through the formal interview process, so pre-screening is a way of narrowing down the applicants.

It’s also a quick way to make sure no one gets interviewed that isn’t a good fit for the job, or out of the salary range.

Bu no means should she interpret it as her having gotten the job. It’s a good sign she made it this far, but she should still work hard to get to the next step.
