Hi im a driving instructor and it is true that it’s hard sometimes but if you put in the work and are good at planning your diary it is a rewarding career. You may not get rich but you can have a flexable work schedule allowing you to fit in things you want to do such as looking after children or hobbies etc. I have done it for over 20 years and it has worked ok most of the time. You do get ups and downs so you should not spend all your money in the good times or you may struggle when work gets quiet.
Hope this helps.
Barry
Hi I agree with the other instructor. I think now in 2012 the economy is even worse with people canceleing lessons due to not haveing enough money. If you are lucky enough to work for a good driving school you can get pupils but I think the days of rich driving instructors are over. I started out in the early 90 s which was quite good but over the years the costs for cars, fuel, insurance etc have reduced proffits. We also have new low priced offers like first 10 lessons for £99 which really means we are working for less money. If any instructors see this page I would like to hear what they think.
