apprentice Youth focus in warship jobs

Already 10 electrical and fabrication employees are working in host companies to hone their skills ahead of moving to the defence project’s shipyard from next year.

A recruitment drive for more workers is under way. The project is expected to create about 4000 direct and indirect jobs in South Australia. About 40 apprentices are expected to be working on the project at the height of construction.

Ai Group Training Scheme – the company responsible for identifying potential apprentices and training those accepted into the program – said there was a focus on hiring indigenous and female candidates…
